Project Name and Goal
The name METER is the short form for Mid-sized Experimental Technology Evaluation Rocket. This name was chosen due to the fact that the planned size of the rocket should be in between the small modelrockets and the larger rockets for suborbital flights.
The project goal is the development of a modular system to test and enhance new technology, wich can be launched with little expense to enable a high frequency of launches (once or twice a year).
Specification
The rocket is intended to have a length of 1.0 to 1.5 meter with a diameter of 80 millimeter and should be able to reach a height of a few hundred meters at subsonic speed.
To minimize development risks for the first version of METER, it´s planned to utilize commercial available parts wherever expedient. These parts can be replaced by own developments in later versions.
